Mental health support designed for, and by, neurodivergent people. Build lasting self-care habits and manage overwhelming emotions.
There’s a reason other apps haven’t worked before.
Let's be honest, there are lots of mental health apps out there. But they are built for neurotypical brains.
Cogs is different. We understand that your brain processes emotions in unique ways. That's why we've built every feature with the community, and tailored them specifically for neurodivergent minds and bodies.
How can Cogs help me?
Built for neurodivergent people, by neurodivergent people
Zareen started Cogs in 2021 with a mission to make the world a fairer place for neurodivergent people. As an autistic person with a Harvard degree in educational neuroscience, Zareen designed Cogs to combine cutting-edge science with community-sourced insights. This method remains at the heart of everything we do.
What makes Cogs different?

Let's be honest, there are lots of mental health apps out there. But most are built for neurotypical brains. Cogs is different. We understand that your brain processes emotions and sensory information in unique ways. That's why we've built every feature – from our stimming tools to our reflection exercises – with the community and tailored them specifically for neurodivergent minds and bodies.

People who have been provided access to Cogs through the NHS report a 32% improvement in symptoms of anxiety and depression after two weeks of using the app. But stats only tell half the story. See what Cogs users are saying about us.

We know that the best solutions come from neurodivergent people themselves and we’ll always be grounded in the voices of the community.
We’ve spent years doing community-based research, discovering what neurodivergent people themselves want support with. We also take the latest neuroscience research around differences in emotion processing that neurodivergent people experience, and combine it with practical methods used in occupational therapy, special education and within the neurodivergent community.
You can find out more about our method here.
-
We’ve designed Cogs around the mental health needs of the neurodivergent community, specifically difficulties neurodivergent people may experience processing, regulating and communicating their emotions. This can affect people across the neurodivergent spectrum and isn’t diagnosis-specific, though autistic people, dyspraxic people and people with ADHD may find Cogs particularly tailored to the way in which they process emotional information.
-
We don’t believe you need a diagnosis to validate neurodivergence and welcome both people with formal diagnoses and those who have self-diagnosed.
-
No. At Cogs we understand that for some neurodivergent people, talking to someone you don’t know can be a stressful experience, or lead to yet more masking. The app has been designed to give you the tools you need to manage your wellbeing without the need to talk to someone.

You need to be 13+ to use the Mental Wellbeing App. This is due to considerations around child safety and data protection.
