Co-founder and CEO

Zareen’s journey to starting Cogs began in 2017 when, alongside a job as a product manager for a medical technology startup, she worked part-time teaching and mentoring neurodivergent children.

Subsequently, she decided to immerse herself in the latest knowledge and research around neurodiversity, specialising in educational neuroscience for her Master’s degree in Education at Harvard.

She put her knowledge into practice back in the UK, working in a school providing teaching support for neurodivergent children, before founding Cogs in 2021.

Co-founder and COO

Felix is our Chief Operating Officer. Along with Zareen he founded the company in 2021.

Felix has second-hand experience of neurodiversity through a close family member and understands intimately how difficult it can be for neurodivergent people to navigate systems that are not designed with them in mind.

Prior to founding Cogs, he had been working as Strategy and Partnerships Lead for Fat Macy’s, a social enterprise working with homeless Londoners.

Senior product engineer

Safiyya, our senior product engineer, joined Cogs in 2023. Their role primarily involves crafting and improving our app’s features.

Safiyya gets excited about building usable and useful software products. In their career, they have mostly worked for early-stage startups, helping to build products in various industries such as education, women’s health, data analytics and media.
